Growing Up

Well...it is official. I have waited and waited and waited and waited for this moment and it has finally arrived. Eli is TOTALLY potty trained. YAHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He even told dad not to pee on the floor when he needs to go to the bathroom. Timeless and practical advice from a four year old.

In more growing up news, my Ammon is eight. EIGHT! It seems like only yesterday that he was four years old dressed as a pirate and eating a fudgsicle at my kitchen table. Where does the time go? I also know that he is getting older because he did not want to buy a costume with some birthday money from grandma. Wow. That is huge! Instead he wanted a skateboard ramp for his new skateboard that cool Aunt Courtney and Uncle Pat got him. Unfortunately the only ramp we could find at the store was not much longer than his skateboard, which would be no fun at all. So, dad and Ammon have their first boy construction project to finish: the skateboard ramp. Pretty soon it will be a half pipe in my backyard.

In more skateboarding news, Eli uses Ammon's old short skateboard. He looks too cute for words in that helmet while carrying the skateboard under his arm. The best part about this is that, right now, he is HOOKED (and I do mean HOOKED) on Back to the Future I and sings the "Power of Love" by Huey Lewis and the News while pretending to be Marty McFly skateboarding. HILARIOUS! I am going to have to try to capture that on video.

Also, my sister came to visit this weekend and we had a wonderful time. It is so wonderful to have a younger sister who is sassy enough to tell me to get my rear in gear and make some art. I feel like I have to now or she will bug me about it. Plus, we have some ideas up our sleeves. More to come on that later. It made me wish that she lived closer to me or that we lived closer to her, one of the two. We had a great time talking about embarrassing stories, cooking and eating great food and watching the boys play with their birthday presents. I am definitely going to make it more of a priority to have more of those moments with her.

BTW I rock at the Star Wars Force Unleashed game for the Wii. I totally kicked Nathan's butt the other night. Well just once but it was the first time I had played against him. I had practiced on some Wookiees before he got home. So I am excellent at throwing the lightsaber and repulsing things. I even have Star Wars terminology now. How geeky is that? I do live in a totally male dominated household, though. I am surrounded by Jedis, super heroes, pirates, ninjas, etc. You already knew that, though.

Anyway so sorry for the long periods of inactivity here. Oh...I almost forgot! I fixed the camera reader situation, so pictures to come soon. I have the perfect idea for the first picture post over here at Blanco Bunny. I also have elephant pictures, zoo pictures and hopefully some hot-of-the-press artwork pictures. Fun! So stay tuned!!!
